Harding Meyer was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil in the year 1964.  He enrolled at the Meisterschüller art school in the year 1983, and went on to study at the Kunstacademie Karlsruhe from 1987 – 1998.  He studied under Professors Max Kaminski and Helmut Dorner.  After the completion of his studies, he was awarded the Helmut-Stober Prize in 1999.
