Study in Academie Julian but after six months he left to study independently.
In 1944 he turned to art for good.
His work appears primitive and child like. He focused on art by insane asylum inmates and mental patients and so he collected art by no professionals such a mental patients, prisoners, and children outside aesthetic norms. His collection of ART BRUT is in museum Art Brut in Lausanne Switzerland.
In 1961 he begins a series of ink drawings. Our drawing is from Paris Circus period.
In 1962 Museum of Modern Art in New York had first retrospective of his work and in their collection is a drawing from the same series of Pisseur
