Born in Bondeno, Ferrara, Walter Jervolino currently lives and works in Turin. At the beginning of his career he attended the painting courses of Pietmontese painters, Soffiantino and Calandri, for a few years and there he learned painting and engraving techniques. In 1969 - 70 he lived in Paris and London, where he started painting as a professional. Back to Italy, he worked for a few years in Milan, before establishing his studio in Turin. At the end of the ‘70’s he refined his technical knowledge and skill by attending, for a few months, the studio of Riccardo Tommasi Ferroni, one of the major Italian figurative painters active at that time. Since then, Jervolino has increased his connections with countries throughout Europe, and also lived for long periods in the United States, where he has exhibited his works in New York, Miami, South Hampton and Los Angeles.
